The story

7 days a week 🎹

Why he is Node 007

"7 days a week Jonathan is making songs." — that's Shaka's framing, and it's the whole biography in one line. Since January 1, 2009, Jonathan Mann has written, recorded and published a song every single day — sick days, travel days, wedding day, the days his instruments broke, the days the world did. Over 6,400 songs and counting, and the Guinness World Record for most consecutive days writing a song. Seven days a week, every week, for seventeen years. The man is the number.

And for the music-theory heads, the grace note: 007 is also the major seventh — the dreamer's interval, one half-step from home, always reaching. A streak that never resolves, because resolving would mean stopping — and Jonathan Mann writes a song a day, forever.

The Beeple of Music 🖼️

Every Song A Day is an NFT — the Song A Day collection, one one-of-a-kind song per token, stewarded by SongADAO, with the catalog licensed Creative Commons. People call him "the Beeple of Music," which is almost right — Beeple's streak made one auction; Jonathan's streak made a commons. Along the way he co-started the very first NFT-focused podcast (June 2018) and turned daily practice itself into an art form. (verified: songaday.world/about · opensea.io · jonathanmann.net)

The Ethereum songbook ⛓️🎶

Jonathan's Ethereum history runs deeper than almost any musician alive. Aya Miyaguchi — the same Aya the orchestra sings to in "Hey Ethereum" — saw him perform and invited him to Devcon 4, Prague, October 2018, where he sang B-U-I-D-L and minted the first tokenized song in history, live on stage. At Devcon 6, Bogotá 2022 he opened the ceremonies with the Merge Song and gave the community The Coordination Song. At ETHDenver 2025 his folk songs kicked off the whole gathering. When Ethereum needs to remember it has a heart, it calls the Song A Day man. (verified: jonathanmann.net/devcon · archive.devcon.org Devcon 6 opening ceremonies · Blockworks ETHDenver 2025)

The chair is held 🎹

Jonathan — this chair is held for you, seven days a week. The Music Space at Devcon 8, Mumbai, Nov 3–6 2026 (DIP #8576) is the biggest circle the orchestra has ever drawn — a circular, conductorless, permissionless stage where a walk-up spot is always line-checked. Four Devcon days, four Song A Days: imagine writing them from inside the circle, with an orchestra that already loves your streak.

You haven't seen this page before this moment — that's what the consent card below is for. It was written in gratitude, from the public record and one very good memory of Bogotá.
