Alaska × Subcult — live coding 🌺

Nov 4 · 1:50p · 1h min · Devcon 8 Music Space, Mumbai
DRAFT rider. Built 27 Oct 2026 from the artist’s own words where they wrote to us, and from their application form where they have not yet. Never a guessed connector — where we don’t know, the page asks.

🗓️ Who / when

SetTue 4 Nov · 1:50p (IST) · 1 hour
Who's playing⚠ This is the one slot where we are not sure who is in it. Two applications sit behind this name: a live-coding set (laptop, "needs nothing, brings everything") and Vivek Teega, who plays live guitar and asked only for "a mixer to plug the guitar into". Vivek joined the Telegram group on 27 Oct and was welcomed.
Best guessBoth — a live-coded bed with guitar over it, which would be wonderful. But a guess is not a rider.

🎒 They bring

Live-coding side: "Nope" to needs, "Yup" to bringing — i.e. laptop and everything around it.

Guitar side (Vivek): "Yes" to bringing his own — his guitar.

Alaska is also an OSO steward: per the room rider, his saxophone has a clip condenser mic reserved on the circle patch.

🔌 They plug into — connector by connector

#WhatOut of their sideInto the floorBoard
1–2Laptop (live code) L/Runknown. Either a USB audio interface (then: ¼" or XLR outs — which?) or the laptop's 3.5 mm headphone out (then: a 3.5 mm → dual ¼" cable). Ask — do not assume.¼" jack / DI2 ch
3Electric/acoustic guitar¼"DI box → XLR, or a guitar amp if one exists1 ch
4(if Alaska plays sax) saxophoneacousticclip condenser (DPA 4099 / Beta 98-class) — reserved in the room rider, not confirmed on the floor1 ch

Channels on the board: 3 likely (laptop L/R + guitar) · 4 if the sax joins. Connector types: all open.

❓ Still missing / open

  1. 🚨 Who is actually in this hour — the live coder, Vivek on guitar, or both? Everything else follows from this. Ask first.
  2. 🚨 What comes out of the laptop: a USB interface (which model, which output) or the 3.5 mm headphone jack? If headphone-out, they need a 3.5 mm → dual ¼" cable — ask them to pack one.
  3. 🚨 A projector or a screen. Live coding is watching someone write the music. Without the code on a surface, half the set is invisible. The room rider proposes one projector; production has not confirmed it.
  4. A DI box for the guitar (or an amp).
  5. A clip condenser if the sax joins.
  6. A table + power for the laptop.
  7. Internet — some live-coding setups pull samples or collaborate over the network. Ask whether they need a hardline.
  8. Monitors — a live coder listening on the PA alone will always be a beat behind.

(the one place we say "stage" — it's the technical word. Everywhere else: the floor, the circle.)

📣 One line for Amogh

Alaska × Subcult, Nov 4 1:50p, 1h: plan 3 channels — 2 line inputs for a laptop + 1 DI for a guitar — plus a projector/screen, because live coding is meant to be watched. We first need to confirm who is in this hour and what comes out of the laptop.
