Nov 3 · 12:30p · 30 min · Devcon 8 Music Space, Mumbai
DRAFT rider. Built 27 Oct 2026 from the artist’s own words where they wrote to us, and from their application form where they have not yet. Never a guessed connector — where we don’t know, the page asks.
🗓️ Who / when

Mon 3 Nov · 12:30p (IST) · 30 min
Who's playing
Solo voice. Hindustani classical since age 5; folk songs across many states and languages.
Shape
Voice over backing tracks (blocked — see Own voices, own beats)or live classical rendition, improvised.
🎒 They bring
Her voice. That is the instrument.
A USB stick with her backing-track files (she also has the files on her own device).
No guitar — she said so explicitly, and she'd love a guitarist to strum the chords instead.
🔌 They plug into — connector by connector

a USB stick — which needs a machine to play it. We have no confirmed playback device on the floor.

2 ch
We will not write a connector for #2. A USB stick is not a connector — it needs a laptop, a media player or a mixer with USB playback, and nobody has confirmed one exists in the room.
Channels on the board:1 (voice). 3 only if a playback lane is cleared and a device is found.
🏠 House provides (what Amogh listed, 26 Oct)
Mixer board with open channels — how many channels, nobody has told us yet (after 4 pm the board is shared/open for anyone).
Mics: SM57 / SM58 (vocal + instrument) and ambient mics.
One 6.35 mm (¼") jack on the floor for instruments.
PA (the room's speakers).
Nothing else is confirmed. Monitors, DI boxes, a keyboard, a DJ deck, power strips, tables: all still open questions — see below.
❓ Still missing / open
🚨 A playback device. If backing tracks are cleared, what plays the USB stick? A house laptop? A mixer with a USB player? Her own phone + a 3.5 mm → dual ¼" cable? This has to be answered before it can be patched.
Mic stand — not on the house list.
A monitor wedge — she asked for a monitor by name. A singer with no instrument needs to hear herself.
🤝 An accompanist. She offered: "if available, I'd love to collaborate with a guitarist who can strum the chords." That is the most beautiful fix in this whole rider — a live guitar or harmonium makes the backing-track question disappear entirely. Shaka's uke, Aakash's harmonium, or any artist in the circle.
Her slot is 30 min, 40 min after the Devcon opening ceremony — she opens our room. Line check needs to be done before 11:50a.
🗺️ Stage plot
(the one place we say "stage" — it's the technical word. Everywhere else: the floor, the circle.)
She wrote twice (26 Oct) and offered the live-classical alternative herself. The mic + stand + monitor is safe to lock. The backing-track lane is not ours to decide.
