The eighth note is the root — come home
Climb a scale: after seven steps the eighth note isn't a new note at all. It's the root again, an octave up — the same home, higher, brighter, carrying everything the scale learned on the way. That's the eighth chair of the Open Source Orchestra, and Shaka's word is that it belongs to LATASHÁ: the artist whose whole lane has been bringing music home to the people — off the label conveyor belt, back into the hands of the ones who make it and the communities who love it.
With her voiced, the first circle of nine begins to close — the orchestra grows in rings of nine, seeds at 3 · 6 · 9 (the Circle of Trust holds the geometry). The octave is the promise that the circle returns to its root.

The pioneer 🏛️
Brooklyn-raised rapper, poet, visual and performance artist — LATASHÁ was minting music-video works on Zora back in 2021, in the first wave of onchain music, with one of the earliest artist sites streaming onchain videos and tracks. That work spoke so loudly that Zora hired her as head of community programming (June 2021) — and instead of gatekeeping, she built a door: Zoratopia, her education platform and event series that traveled from every-other-Wednesday webinars to Art Basel Miami and NFT NYC, putting tools in the hands of artists — with special care that Black and independent creators got there first, not last. Today the evolution continues as Topia (topia.vision) — her own world-building vision for onchain culture — while the artist keeps performing, minting and proving, in her own words to BET, that in this space you can be all the things at once and still thrive. The orchestra recognizes its own creed in hers: community first, artists sovereign, everyone counted in.
