Some nodes get a story first. This one gets a poem — because the poem came first. When Shaka wanted to tell the Ethereum Foundation what the orchestra is, he didn't write a deck. He wrote seventeen syllables for two people: Aya Miyaguchi and Tomo. The whole nodes project you are reading right now is that middle line, unfolded.

012 — twelve notes, the full octave of chairs

Western music has exactly twelve notes before the scale comes home. With Node 012, the orchestra's chairs reach their first full chromatic octave — every semitone seated, nothing skipped. And the digital root of 12 is 3: the first seed number of the 3·6·9 vortex returning at a higher turn. New circle, same trinity.

It is right that the twelfth chair belongs to a designer — the person whose craft is making the whole feel like one thing.

The gardener of the Infinite Garden 🌱

The public record knows him as Tomo Saito — "a designer at the Ethereum Foundation. Creating the world of the Infinite Garden and more!" (his own bio on the Devcon speaker page). For years his name has run through the Devcon Archive's credits as Creative Direction — the look and feel of Ethereum's biggest gathering, the Infinite Garden made visible. At Devcon SEA he told that whole story from the stage: Ethereum Culture Expanding in the Infinite Garden.

The Music Space embrace 🫂

The orchestra's own books remember it simply: "Tomo, Carlota & the Devcon team embraced the Music Space as team activation" — 2026, the year the circles got a home of their own on the road to Mumbai. The chair on this page was earned before it was built.

Tomo's vision, as Shaka carries it: the Devcon music circle should face inward — no stage and crowd, just people looking at each other, singing. And there is a reason the vision points at India: in the orchestra's whole travelled life, India is the only country where a circle spontaneously became hundreds of people singing together — and it happened twice (as Shaka tells it). Devcon 8 is in Mumbai. The country that already knows how to do this is hosting the orchestra's biggest circle yet.

That is a composition the way trustgraphs is a composition: not notes on a page, but a shape that makes music happen. The season of the Every Voice a Node conversations is planned to close on exactly this — the inward-facing circle, live at Devcon 8, audience singing, recorded, archived, forked — the way the haiku promised.

The chair is held 🫂

Tomo — this chair is held for you, facing inward like everything you asked for. The Music Space at Devcon 8, Mumbai, Nov 3–6 2026 (DIP #8576) exists in no small part because the Devcon team embraced it — and the orchestra wants the person who dreamed the inward circle sitting inside it when it closes. As designer, as singer, as listener, as whatever you'd enjoy being. And the question is still warm: when did a circle of strangers first sing back at you?
